Home Preservation Program: Wild River’s Critical Home Repair Program helps homeowners with low to moderate incomes to get the repairs and improvements they need.  Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. The program is designed for homeowners who have experienced a life change and as a result, may find themselves unable to maintain, add or repair critical aspects of their homes. The program provides critical home repairs to prevent low-income households from being displaced from their homes and to protect the affordable housing stock in our service area. Some home repair work includes accessibility modifications (ramps), weatherization, energy efficiency, critical repairs, and exterior repair services to revitalize neighborhoods. The program does not address basic painting, replacing carpet or flooring unless for safety or accessibility reasons, window replacement unless rotted, cosmetic repairs or renovation.

Homeownership. Wild Rivers partners with low-income households in need and with the ability to repay a zero to low-interest mortgage to build safe, affordable housing. Now accepting applications.

Mortgage and Rent Assistance: Wild Rivers Habitat for Humanity, Inc. can provide up to $1,000 to renters and homeowners impacted by COVID-19. This has been made possible through a grant from the St. Croix Valley Foundation. Eligible applicants will need to have been directly affected by COVID-19 through a reduction in work hours or loss of employment.

Emergency needs for food, home heating fuel, medical expenses, re-training, and other immediate situations for farm families.

We are dedicated to helping people in Barron County who are facing times of crisis. We do this in the form of shelter at The Family House, shared with Polk County. We also help with emergency needs like rent, electricity, or heat assistance. We also help to make sure that kids in our communities have happy, full bellies while they are away from school.

Provides financial assistance with heating bills, furnace tuning & replacement, and weatherization for income-eligible households, a Homeless Intervention Program that provides rent assistance to families and individuals experiencing homelessness and a Housing Stability Program that helps with eviction prevention efforts, budgeting assistance, connections to community and agency resources/programs and one-on-one planning, coaching and financial education, and the housing listed below:
